Maps and Stages

Maps decide whether your wall combo exists. The Strongest Battlegrounds is still equal-stats PvP—shared HP and shared systems—but stage geometry changes how often you find a flat wall, a trash can, a corner, or a long sightline for zoners. Cosmic-era updates also advertised a new coastal / cruise-ship and beach style battleground alongside classic arenas. This page is a stage-control tool, not a tourist brochure.

Why maps matter for converts

Wall combos need a solid surface behind the opponent (Wall Combo Guide). Open beach sand with no props means you must create corner pressure or wait for a wall section of the map. Cruise-ship decks can offer long corridors that favor Tech Prodigy style zoning (Tech Prodigy) and punish players who only labbed tight city walls.

Geometry checklist every lobby

  1. Flat walls: best classroom for fourth M1 → forward dash timing.
  2. Corners: limit escape, but also squeeze your own dash path.
  3. Props (trees, benches, trash cans): valid wall objects with weird launch angles—lab them in private servers (Private Server Commands).
  4. Vertical drops / edges: know where a Nuclear Fission style Cosmic spend or a heavy knockback sends people—Cosmic Garou Moveset.
  5. Sightlines: long beaches help projectiles; tight interiors help rushdown like Blade Master (Blade Master).

Ranked stage habits

In 1v1 and 3v3 Elo (How to Play Ranked), first-to-two means one bad wall gift can end a set. Before round start, glance for your favorite wall. If the stage is beach-open, plan side-dash cuts toward structures instead of mashing midstage. Team modes: assign who owns which side so two players do not chase the same empty lane into Burst—Burst Guide.

Character × map pairings

Practice drill

Spend ten minutes per map: five wall converts on the best wall, five on a prop, five midstage side-dash escapes with no wall. Record which angles feel cursed. Update your notes after patches listed on Cosmic Update and the Updates Hub.

Coastal Cosmic stage notes

When the cruise-ship / beach rotation is live, treat open sand as a neutral tax. You cannot default to the same wall spam you learned on compact city stages. Cut toward railings, ship walls, and prop clusters before you commit a fourth M1. If you whiff mid-beach, side dash toward structure instead of chasing into Burst stacks.

Long sightlines also change who starts the fight. Tech Prodigy and other zoners get free chip if you walk the center lane with no plan. Rushdown kits should hug props and force close confirms. Cosmic Garou players should avoid starting Mark → God Slayer in the most open sand where third parties interrupt the cinema.

Private-server stage lab recipe

  1. Lock the server and bring a dummy to the strongest wall.
  2. Land twenty fourth-M1 wall converts without looking at chat.
  3. Move to a prop and repeat ten times—note weird launches.
  4. Practice five midstage escapes with only side and back dash.
  5. Walk the coastal map once purely to memorize safe walls for ranked.

Pair the recipe with Controls so binds never steal attention from geometry. After Cosmic hotfixes, re-run steps 1–3 before blaming your main.

Mindset

A map is not flavor text. It is the board your equal-stats kit plays on. Bookmark this page next to the Tools Hub and re-open it whenever a new stage ships or your wall convert rate drops without a patch note explaining why.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for combat, codes, and ranked play.

Did Cosmic add a new map?

Cosmic-era coverage highlights a coastal cruise-ship and beach style stage alongside classic arenas—confirm the live rotation in-client.

Which maps are best for wall combos?

Stages with long flat walls and clear corners. Prop-only areas need extra lab time for launch angles.

Do maps change character stats?

No. Equal stats stay. Maps change spacing, sightlines, and how often wall converts are available.

How should I warm up on a new stage?

Find one flat wall, land ten wall combos, then practice midstage escapes without relying on walls.

Where do I practice safely?

Use Private Servers+ commands and dummies when available, then take the same angles into public or ranked lobbies.

Should I lab props as well as flat walls?

Yes. Props create weird launch angles. Ten prop converts per map prevent ranked surprises.
